The Group – Joining a Band of Brothers

bio4.jpg One of the most important parts of the process is the forming of the “Band of Brothers” between the men of that  church. Regular weekly meetings where men can be men is a must. Some come together and grill hamburgers and hot dogs, and have a time of fellowship which is then followed by a time of teaching and breaking into small groups to discuss the teaching. These small groups are so very powerful. As the group gets to know one another, the walls come down, and there is great opportunity for ministry. This is how the “Band of Brothers” begins to form.

There may also be a Men’s Sunday school class to supplement the weekly meeting but you need that men’s night out to seal the deal. Attendance at the meetings are noted, and become an integral part of the commissioning process. No man is an island, and someone who doesn’t attend the groups isn’t going to bind to the band of brothers. Attendance counts towards commissioning requirements.
